Carnival Time (Al Johnson) (w/ Preservation Hall Jazz Band) OK, this was the first show of the current MMJ tour and what a place, the beautiful Alabama Theater! MSTaper Jr. taped this one by his lonesome with the baby rig. He went mic in to the R-09 with the Church Audio mics clamped to a projector hanging off the balcony. Apparently the pre was acting up during the first band and he wanted to avoid any issues with MMJ. Still sounds very nice. I think there is a four-channel Shoeps version on the LMA so check it out. I took the set list off the Net and I hope it's correct. I'm really only familiar with the second track. MSTaper Jr. is in Nashville to see them tonight (4-21) with the Avantone > Fostex FR-2LE rig so I should have another show coming! enjoy! MSTaper Tape > Share > Support!
