Date: Sun, 09 Sep 2001 17:55:43 From: J. To: [email protected] This show was fabulous! If you're a fan of the two discs released thus far by My Morning Jacket (Darla) but you haven't had the opportunity to see them live.... MAKE IT HAPPEN! You absolutely must experience the energy pouring off these guys live! I won't say it's totally different than the albums but the live show seems to have some kind of magical force surrounding it. I have seen them play live a few times and they have a wonderful way of building tension around the music. The songs are built up in a very deliberate way that makes it absolutely delicious. For me, it's not just "the way that he sings"; it's the way they make me wait for it! The crescendo. It makes you feel that if they stopped at a critical point, you might just die…or burst! The light show was cool too. It was the only thing that kept me from getting up and dancing in the darkened aisles. I am a strong supporter of local and national talent and I go out to see many bands, lots of different genres. It seems like that would make it easy for me to describe this band live for you. But that's impossible. This group defies description; they can't be classified into any genre. They are unlike any band I've ever seen. You simply must see My Morning Jacket LIVE! J.
