View NotesI've seen Mike a number of times since 2010 and this is by far the best show he's put on that I've seen. His new gimmick is curating the instrumentation during the song, like a maestro on the conducting stand. This created a great vibe, as everyone was into it, and waiting to see what choices Doughty would make as the song progressed. The set highlight for me was definitely "Wednesday", which Doughty has often refused to play at his solo acoustic shows due to the difficulty he has playing and singing it simultaneously. Since Doughty has the full band handling the lion's share of instrumentation, he played it here. To top off the great show, the recording came out great as well. Enjoy, and go see Doughty on this tour. He's at the top of his game.
