MiniDisc > Sony MD Walkman MZ-R70 (analog output) > WireTap Pro > Bias' Peak > aiff > xACT > flac16
Taper Notes:
View Notesfrom WikiPedia: "The audio on a MiniDisc has traditionally been compressed using the ATRAC format (Adaptive TRansform Acoustic Coding). ATRAC was devised for MiniDisc so that the same amount of audio a CD can carry can fit on a disc far smaller than the CD" "Sony's ATRAC codec differs from uncompressed PCM in that it is a psychoacoustic lossy audio compression scheme, so decompression of the compressed signal will not yield the original signal, although the compressed signal may sound identical to the original to the listener" 1. Beginning of "Something Is Forming" missing; fade-in added 2. There are two gaps near the beginning of "Silver Jack;" fade-ins and fade-outs were added. Additionally the area between the gaps is mono - only one channel was working; I made it 2-channel mono. 3. There is a gap for disc change near the end of the "Dark Water" jam; fade-out and fade-in added. 4. There is a gap for disc change near the end of the "Sunshine" jam; fade-out and fade-in added.
