View Notes* w/ Fred Moore on vocals Notes: First show at Phil's Farm. This show was recorded directly from the SBD (patched 2nd in line) with a Teac DA-P20 using 2 hour tapes. The masters were then cloned using a Casio DAR-100 as the playback deck and a Panasonic SV3700 as the record deck, using a DDS 90 meter tape. There are 2 "flaws" on the master which resulted from the 2 hour DAT tape change. The first takes place near the end of "Sunshine of my love" (disc 2, track 5). A few seconds of music was lost while the person running the lead deck changed his tape. The second takes place during the transition jam from "Sunshine of my love" to "Harmony" (between disc 2 and disc 3). As much as 30 seconds of music may be missing due to a sloppy tape change on the TEAC DA-P20. The 90 Meter clone was played back using a FOSTEX D-5 SPDI/F TOSLINK Optical Cable into a M-Audio Delta DiO 2496 Soundcard. The host PC was running on Gentoo Linux (Kernel 2.4.19-pre7) with the Pro OSS sound drivers. The capture was done using the OSS record utility. The edits which were done in Audacity 1.00 are as follows: d2t05 crossfade at about 3:59. Fades were added at the beginning and end of the show as well as at the end of disc 2 and beginning of disc 3 (to soften the tape change cut). The resampling from 48kHz to 44.1kHz was done using SoX v12.17.3 using the resample filter, -qs option. The track splits were done with shntool v.1.01, and finally the shorten compression was done using shorten v. 3.4. Enjoy! Transfer: Robert Brown Track timings and song titles: Brett Zales
