View NotesOnly my second gig recording, and with a fairly cheap microphone, but quite listenable. The audience are nice and quiet during songs, and Alan and Mimi's vocals come through nicely. Bass is a bit heavy, at times. Interesting setlist, with four new tracks (05, 08, 09, 11) from the forthcoming album. 08 'Witches' is also known as 'Al Green', and '$20' as 'For Free'. Other highlights are the relatively rare 'Lordy', a 12 minute golden oldie of 'Lullaby', and the rarely played Smiths cover 'Last Night...'. Listen for how a crowd member requests the Smiths cover, and Alan starts singing it a few seconds later. Not much banter from the band, but a surreal moment when Alan challenges the audience to test his knowledge of goats!
