View NotesThe most unusual feature of this Low show from early 1996 is an alternate version of Over the Ocean, performed in a different key (C major vs. A major) and with much lower-pitched vocals. This is the only recording I've ever found of this version, but I'm guessing they probably tried it out at a few shows before returning to the original format. Otherwise it's a normal setlist for the period, though with a few nice surprises like Mom Says and Dark. The band plays well as always, and the crowd is noisy but appreciative. (Suddenly I feel like this is two steps away from becoming a Wesley Willis-style review.) The sound is also pretty good (albeit mono), especially for a video camera source, though things get pretty saturated during Do You Know How to Waltz?. (The video, not included in this transfer, is dark and grainy but very watchable.) There was about 5 minutes of extra audio at the beginning and end of the show, consisting of little else but crowd noise. I've cut that off, faded the beginning and end of the show in and out, and normalized it to -0.6 dB. Otherwise the original recording is unchanged. Enjoy, and thanks to Ben for documenting this show!
