View NotesSRC: (FOB) Schoeps MK4 > Sonosax SX-M2 > Teac DA-P20 (48 khz) > MDAT > DAT ("Digital Copy") Lineage: Sony TCD-790 > Hucht Copyprocessor MKII > Tascam HD-P2 > WAV > downsampling to 44.1 khz in r8brain Pro > FLAC Recorded by Boris Lvovsky Transferred by Dan Haugh NOTE (3/2021): --FYI: This most likely does not have the emphasis removed that the Teac DA-P20 would automatically add to DATs when working as the A/D converter as is the case here. So that would still have to be stripped from the recording for this to truly shine. This can done with certain software..ask Scott Bernstein or Charlie Miller as they both know how this is done. Source notes: J-card says "Digital copy", but source info looks like Dan's setup, so if this isn't a master, then in all likelihood it's a first generation with all-digi lineage, probably made as a backup or a copy meant for someone else that never made it out of the house (just guessing). Known flaw: From 0:59 to 1:08 on "Don't Worry Baby" there's a sudden, 20 db rise in volume, obviously the result of attenuators being momentarily switched off and then back on. I lowered the volume to compensate and faded down the loud chord just before it to ease the transition, but the clipping is painfully audible and unfortunately irrepairable. Fortunately that's the only known flaw - the rest of the recording sounds incredible!
