The most I have ever gone through to record a Local H show ever, PERIOD. Everyone in the Local H trading world know why. Anyway, some quick notes. The first track "Intro" is from my recording. The next track, "Rock & Roll Professionals #" is from the Gannon source of this show. During the beginning of the song, the microphones that I had positioned on the balcony (actually, I had them clipped to some wires that were running across the top ledge) came undone. These wires I had them clipped to, were going to the center balcony camera. {This show was filmed for a possible upcoming dvd / video release.} So, in a panic, I tried to remedy the situation as soon as possible. This caused me to drop the recording unit (way to go, huh?), and the minidisc ejected from the R55. Therefore, all data was lost. So all I had left was the first track (the band intro) from Q101 Radio. The recording picked up at the end of "Rock And Roll Professionals #". In post-show editing, I took the Gannon source (who was recording approx. 5-6 rows behind me), and used his "Rock And Roll Professionals". I then spliced my recording into his at approximately 0:16 on "Fritz's Corner" (track 3). A 'matrix' appears from 0:16 to 0:24 (where you can hear both sources). The only differences on the 2 sources ~ The Gannon source sounds a little more distant, and my source (which was recorded directly over the floor, first row balc) sounds a bit closer. Both honestly, sound relatively the same. Sorry for the long notes on this one, just wanted to make sure everyone would get a good idea of what they are hearing. For the Gannon source, please see <a href="http://www.archive.org/details/localh2002-05-04.flac16" rel="nofollow">here</a>. # denotes Gannon Source. updated notes: 11/13/10-- When I mentioned "everyone knows why", I realize its been 8 years, so you might not. Local H had a strict "no taping" policy at this show since it was being filmed for DVD release (which never happened, by the way) and security found me as I was packing up my gear after the show had ended. I was taken down the stairs to the Chicago PD, and was being told I would be in 'huge' trouble. Thankfully, Eddie (the bands manager) came to my rescue and told them to let me go. I did throw the 2 minidiscs (containing the show) underneath the stairs as I was being walked down by security so they had nothing of mine to confiscate. My buddy Ryan grabbed it on his way out. I then gave police my Chevelle minidisc (the opener) instead and told them that is what I used.
