Show Notes: In Gabe's wonderful intro, he said some things that i completely identify with. We all have favorite bands, singers, and guitar players. But a great song cannot exist without a great song writer. Lo Faber is most certainly my favorite song writer. God Street Wine Songs have been part of the soundtrack to my life since well before i was old enough to go see them live⦠To say that this was an Intimate setting would be an understatement. A handful of Wino's in The Ultimate Wino's Basement watching Mr. Faber play an eclectic set of old God Street Wine Songs, his own new original music, and some awesome covers. I have listened to Lo's music consistently for so many years. His ability to arrange music in a full band setting is in a league with only a few other masters. To witness him as a completely solo act was a beautiful testament to how talented he is as a musician. Old GSW songs took on whole new meanings. His new material brings out a musical side of him that i have never seen or heard. Watching and hearing him fingerpick with such fluidity was a sight to behold. Big thanks to Gabe for inviting me to his home to be a part of this great evening. Taper Notes: I did not have a tripod for this one. The ZOOM H1 was placed on the mantel of a fireplace a few feet back on the right side of the room. The recording is pretty damn clear throughout most of the show. It needed no adjustments in EQ. What you hear is exactly what came through the mic. The last song "Highway Patrolman" was cut short, due to a lack of space on my micro SD card. I have already upgraded the card, so this will not happen in the future.
