Chris said that it actually sounds better than it did being there! And what a great show to have captured in such quality. Without Bill Payne, this is a different sounding band. On songs like Hate to Lose, it sounds a bit spare. But the overall effect is having the guitars much more prominent. You can hear Paul and Fred playing rhythm parts ordinarily buried, which is fascinating to guitar aficionados. And the addition of Craig Fuller really helps, particularly with a rousing version of Amie. Dixie Chicken is relatively short, but the Fat Man opus is the centerpiece, with a long and blazing jam. This is a unique and tremendously enjoyable show.
