There are too many highlights to highlight! The centerpiece is A Apolitical Blues > Long Distance Call > A Apolitical Blues, with David Bromberg's topical references to Kim Jong-Il and Vladimir Putin ("and get the hell out of Ukraine!"). Bill Payne takes the lead on Percy Mayfield's Louisiana, and Larry Campbell fires up a fun Big River. Gimme a Stone is dedicated to Richie Hayward, who used to sing it so beautifully. Jorma Kaukonen joins the crowd for Willie Dixon's Mellow Down Easy, and the barnburning Tripe Face Boogie closer sounds phenomenal with the horn section. Once again the matrix sound from Chris and Alex is off the charts; these are nothing like standard audience recordings. And thanks as always to featseeker for the upload at dimeadozen.org.
