Featroller comment: For those of us unable to make the Annual Pilgrimage to Negril, Chris and Alex have yet again lept into the breach and provided this near-live experience. The sound is stellar, and it needs to be to match the performance. This is the best Feat show since New Year's Eve. It's also unlike any show they've ever done. Billy says the idea for the opening set came from the performance of Gringo on the Rams Head Revisited release. That's reprised beautifully here, preceded and followed by jams that will leave jazz aficionados drooling with delight. The highlight has got to be the full-band Bank Robbery – the kind of jazz tune rockers can sink their teeth into. And when it's all said and done… the Feat show begins! Brickyard Blues is one of the songs they've been working on in the studio for the upcoming blues-based release. It is terrific – let's hope it becomes a set list regular. Craig is put to great use on his hilarious Those Feat Will Steer Ya Wrong Sometimes. And how fine to hear Rock & Roll Doctor, with a new jam added featuring the inspired Ron Holloway on sax. The set list was obviously chosen to take advantage of Ron: e.g. Representing the Mambo, with a long sax jam, again like the Rams Head Revisited version. This is one for the ages, folks. Thanks as always to Chris for lugging his gear and saving these sweet sounds for posterity, and to Alex for his mastering wizardry and his help in keeping your humble downloader/tracker from derailing himself.
