Lauderdale 2008-07-04 McFarland Park (Second Stage) Florence, AL DFC about 50' from stage; 7' high Lauderdale is: Niles Lee: guitar and vocals Corey Hannah: bass Patrick McDonald: drums Daniel Stoddard: guitar This is Lauderdale's set from the "Spirit of Freedom Celebration" at McFarland Park in Florence, AL., the band's hometown , on July 4. You'll notice three new songs in the setlist, "Goodbye Nashville," "Role Model" and "Big Fish." Despite some early rain, the second stage where local acts were appearing was set up and the band started on time. The local bands were only allowed approximately half-hour sets. The sound was good but there are some issues as there were no sound checks. They were taken care of and recording sounds good because the show was loud and I was pretty close. If you don't already know, Lauderdale is a great indie band from the Muscle Shoals area of Northwest Alabama. They've been slowly gaining noteriety in the southeast, building some momentum as they pick up shows in the region. They are part of a growing Shoals music scene that includes artists like Jason Isbell, Sons of Roswell, The Fiddleworms, Firewood, BoomBox, Red Mouth, Doc Daily, Planet Ink, Seance Fiction and others. If they come to your town, check them out and always, support indie music, buy a shirt, buy a disc, thank the band. www.myspace.com/lauderdale music tape>share>support
