View NotesShow Notes: - This was the closing performance of a Hyena Records Showcase which also featured performances by Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Marco Benevento, and Mike Dillon's Go-go Jungle (none of which I saw.) I walked in late not knowing John Ellis was even playing. I quickly set up a mic at the foot of the stage, slightly left of John. The recording catches the tail end of Trash Bash and the final 35 minutes thereafter. Recording Notes: * With about 1 minute left in Three Legged Tango, my mic was kicked over and knocked to the ground. I edited out the pops (somewhat) but the recording's stereo image and frequency response change dramatically. I repositioned the mic on a chair in front of the stage to the left about 4 feet away. The result is not as good as the original spot, but not awful either.
