--Jazz Is Dead were opening for KVHW at this show & were on tour with them in the opening slot...now THAT is a killer night of live music, y'all!!  
--Jimmy Herring also sat in with KVHW for their entire performance on this evening because Ray White did not show up

--venue opened in 1905 & was named "Hill Opera House" (1905-192?);  in early 1920s it was nearly destroyed by fire & forced to shut down;  By 1925 is was restored & opened as a movie theater (not sure if it still bore the "Hill Opera House" name then);  around 1935 is was purchased by California Movie Theater & renamed "California Theater" (1935-1957);  then another fire on 1957-08-05 & restored again & renamed "Showcase Theater" & began hosting live concerts (1957-1982);  then "The Phoenix Theater" (1982-present [2023])
