Well, I actually had this particular BARN entry (BARN89) complete (minus some setlist identification and this note) over a month ago, but a lot of shows got in the way of me having time for some BARN entries. So there is not a lot of story behind this one -- this is the first of only 2 times I ever got to see Jiggle The Handle (so there are no more lost Jiggle recordings in The BARN unfortunately). They were a totally great band from Boston that never really got their due -- really tight, with a great lead guitarist and a strong repertoire of tunes. I dug this tape out to transfer as part of the jambands.com weekend from Wetlands in June of 1999, and this set was on the same DAT. I guess I went to Wetlands to see Conehead Buddah and I had heard some buzz about Jiggle, so I made sure to get there and set up early to record their set. Unfortunately Gary, the guitarist, experiences some serious guitar amp failure in just the 2nd song, really killing a great groove they'd gotten going. He switches to acoustic for the rest of the show, and he sounds really nice on acoustic, but it's just not as rockin' as the electric stuff he was doing. Still, this is worth your effort and time for a tasty listen. Enjoy!
