JGB always finds a great spot in their energy there, and throw off a really great show. This show revisits "Valerie", on request of loving Janice, who wouldn't take "no". Good for her... :-)

View NotesMelvin Seals (keys), Stu Allen (guitar, vocals), Justin Purtill (bass), Mark Corsolini (drums), Mary Holland and Judith Coleman (backing vocals) First Set Matrix mix: Audience: Neumann KM140's (clamped to front of sbd) > UA5 (digimod) > digital optical cable > Sony M1 DAT> Soundforge (levels, etc, no EQ). Recorded by PeterT. Soundboard: Sbd > Standalone CDburner > flac. Recorded by Sound Engineer Bo Putnam Mixed in Adobe Audition by PeterT. Sbd was mixed at +2 dB, Audience at -1 dB. Then via CDWave to flac to YOU! Second Set (and first set repeated): Soundboard: Sbd > Standalone CDburner > flac > Soundforge (levels, cuts) > CDWave (re-tracking) > dBPoweramp (Flacs). Recorded by Sound Engineer Bo Putnam. Prepared for uploading by PeterT. Note d3t07, Lonesome And A Long Way From Home, is the matrix mix, since the sbd recording was started late after the disc flip. Notes: Folks, this is my first home-made matrix mix! I chose to go with about a 55/45 sbd / audience mix. These were amongst my first recordings with my new Neumann mics and rig, still learning about mic orientation - I think these were ORTF 90 degree... And DFC! Thanks to Bo Putnam for the soundboard recording, and the room to clamp my mics to the soundboard. First set only for matrix mix. Second set exists in soundboard recording only (my battery pack failed so no audience recording). These data files contain the matrixed first set, the soundboard second set, and if anyone likes, the soundboard of the first set is listed as Disc 3... This was the second of two nights under the California Redwoods in Felton, near Santa Cruz, south of San Francisco. It was a great weekend of music, definitely Better Than Average! I hope to post recordings of the first night soon too... Comments about the matrix mix are very welcome, that's how I learn. I think it sounds pretty remarkably good... Cheers!
