Many, many days & sessions & hours were spent fixing so many strange balance issues on one side or the other (Left or Right), sometimes in very, very laborious, incremental sections...the right channel was also slightly ahead of the left throughout (by 0.014 ms), so that also had to be properly aligned...& lots of other detailed stuff. Something going on with the settings for that scene in the digital mixing desk that evening, no doubt. --I have never come across a SBD that needed that much help of fixing that many 'swings in balance' issues & I pray that I never come across & have to fix one like that again. --After mixing the sources, I found, targeted & cleanly scrubbed 62 bits of tiny little feedback rings from the set for all of our increased listening pleasure. Nothing too terrible or anything to begin with, but super clean now. --The 3 sections where Jerry leaves the stage to talk or sing up close & personal with the crowd, he is far away from any microphones (mics for the sbd or stage mics, etc.) so his voice can be barely heard at those times. Not much I could do to remedy that...I experimented with raising the stage mics at those points, but that was not very effective & made things sound weird. Would have been nice to have a pair of mics in the house for those portions. --Working on this & seeing it thru was a true labour of love & I spent a ton of blood, sweat & tears trying to get it right...I almost gave up on it a few times as it was just so frustrating. Why did I push it thru & finish it??...well, it was such a beautiful show that I knew would be represented well if I could just finish it & it also was a fairly important one as it is the only show Jerry played in NYC in 2021 or 2020 (for obvious reasons). --Jerry was only scheduled to play a 75-minute set at this event, but I finagled the super nice house sound guy to allow us an extra half hour & then they just played an additional half hour on top of that. That might not seem so amazing as JJ regularly plays over 2 hour shows, but in a venue such as this in NYC where things are tightly scripted & scheduled, it was a pretty sweet feat to pull off. A HUGE shout out must truly be given to the crowd who continued to order drinks & therefore aided big time in allowing JJ to go on...nice job, everyone!! --I hope everyone enjoys this.
