schoeps cmc621 (split directly in front of each PA [about 6 inches away])>SD 744t
Lineage:
SD 744t>firewire>pc>WAV>Sound Forge 10.0 (Balance, VC, PD&Norm, time alignment, tracking, fades)>WAV>TLH>FLAC (level 8)
Taper Notes:
View Notes**=w/ "let it be" rap sung off mic raps/cover tunes & their corresponding artists: "let it be" - the Beatles Jerry Joseph - acoustic guitar, vox #=w/ Craig Greenberg - piano schoeps cmc621 (split directly in front of each PA [about 6 inches away])>SD 744t>firewire>pc>WAV>Sound Forge 10.0 (Balance, VC, PD&Norm, time alignment, tracking, fades)>WAV>TLH>FLAC (level 8) foh sound, recorded, mast/remastered & info research by Bill Mulvey NOTE: Unfortunately the recording ends at 4:02 into t11 ("the jacob ladder") & so is missing the rest of that & the encore of "without a rope". Still do not know what happened here exactly. The recorder was sitting safely on Stage Right in order to receive the XLRs from the split mics in front of each PA. I was at FOH mixing sound & did check in with the recorder about 3/4ths of the way thru the show & everything looked great & then when I went to collect it at the end it was fully shut off. I cannot imagine that anyone touched it nor shut it off physically (not in this JJ crowd) so that means somehow it shut itself off. The 6 hour battery had a full charge from the night before. Maybe it was not making a full contact with the battery somewhere or the unit simply did not receive the full charge from the battery this time, still not sure. Sucks, but what can ya do sometimes?? I tried to crush it & do everything & what is here is pretty awesome, especially considering that Rockwood makes it very difficult to record well in there (no SBD patches at all, no mics in sweet spot on floor, no, No, NO!!!!) & also the fact that performers typically are only allowed to perform around 55 minutes max for their 'hour set'. Jerry was going last on this night & the house sound guy was an associate of mine & he was also digging it & so he let us go longer since we were not cutting into anyone else's set. Jerry had a hard time believing me from the stage that he could continue, but I told him to keep going so we ended up getting around an hour & 40 minutes of which we get almost 90 here. Not too shabby for something that was only supposed to be 55. Just sayin'. But that's all just excuses, of course, that I did not get the whole set--hahaha!! Hope you still enjoy.
