Taper Notes:
View Notes* = w/Oteil Burbridge on bass + = w/Jeff Sipe on drums ^ = w/Mayuke on tablas % = w/Paul Dooley (Rainbow Trout) on vocals @ = w/Kofi Burbridge on keys and flute The band Kebbi Williams - tenor sax Kenny Lehmann - alto sax Walter King - baritone sax and flute Richie Cananta - tenor sax The Bison - trumpet Dave Kopek - guitar Mark Calderone - bass Dave Diamond - drums Steve Finklestein - percussion Bill Titus - guitar Recorded, transferred (6/26/2012), tracked (1/13/2020), mastered (5/4/2020), and posted (5/5/2020) by Scott Bernstein I scrubbed 12 yells, about 75 claps, and 10 loud bursts of feedback from this recording for all of our enjoyment Taper notes: For BARN215, I present to you a companion piece to my previous posting in BARN214 -- another Jason Crosby and Friends jam session. Apparently these Jason Crosby jam sessions became a bit of a "thing" in NYC around this time beyond the "all star" Wetlands show I posted from 3/14/01 -- Scott Brown also posted shows from Wetlands on 6/5/01 (which included Lo Faber [God Street Wine], Tom Pirozzi and Todd Pasternack [Ominous Seapods], Leo Nocentelli [The Meters], Melvin Sparks, Pete Levin, and others), and 8/20/01 (posted by Yossi Pollack from the Dave Nolan collection) which featured Jeff Sipe, Oteil Burbridge, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Lo Faber, Tom Perozzi, Eric Krasno, Todd Pasternack among many others. Well this show has its own parade of guests -- in this case it's Oteil and his brother Kofi Burbridge (RIP Kofi -- we miss him!!!), Jeff Sipe (AKA Apt. Q258 -- and Oteil's former bandmate from the Aquarium Rescue Unit), Paul Dooley from Rainbow Trout, and a tabla player. Much of the band remains from the previous shows -- Bill Titus, Dave Diamond, Steve Finkelstein, Kebbi Williams; though there are few extra horn players at this show. Once again, you should enjoy the beautiful sonic qualities of this recording, which I made with spit microphones hung from the balcony of this beautiful (and sweet sounding) venue. Enjoy!
