View NotesAmbient Recording by Mike French From first row, slightly right of the stages center (*see details, in notes) ADK A51TL's in *kindaDIN stereo configuration, as hypers. Grace Lunatec V3 44.1 ansr Sony PCM-M1 dat as bit bucket. * kindaDIN stereo...... (made up technique, on the fly): Left mic aimed at left side of stage at 45degrees left axis Right mic pointed slightly left of 0degrees center-axis(-5degrees left axis of right mic), to try to avoid being too on-axis to the stage right pa system. Mics separated by 17cm, with the odd angles included. This room was a large square, with the stage pushed into the far right front wall/corner of the room. The seating was the full width and depth of the room, and totally sold-out. The right side of the stage had an on-stand pa speaker. The left pa system was on the far left side of the room, and totally out of practical reach for me. I, as a taper, was not allowed any floor space for my mic stand, by the promoters demand, except the very rear of the room. So, I suspended my mic stand from an indoor craftsmen style arbor, with the mics mostly out of view from the rear. I laid the mic stand down on the framing for the arbor, and weighted it with boom-arm sandbags, then extended the mic stand open, parallel to, and over first row, horizontally reaching back toward center, as closely as my severely bending mic stand would allow. Fortunately it didn't collapse onto the first row audience members. So, this recording was done in far less than ideal conditions. The music is great, hopefully you'll overlook the oddities in the recording mastering process, and hear the music.
