Mix of DPA4022fixed files and SBD feed - Reaper mix
Lineage:
Rendered from 24.192 master mix
Taper Notes:
View NotesThis is the early set, and is a mix of the house mix feed, and, ambient pair, as a "matrix" mix. Problem: The ambient pair had a mic that started to fail during this performance. I decided to try to fix the ambient recording by copying the good channel, over the bad channel, just so that I could at least hear it (I love ambient recordings!). Well, purely by chance, I realized that the Edirol R09 and this Tascam DVRA1000 recorder hold a very near to perfect synch, as far as drifting apart from each other source. Nope, they stayed tight. So, I upsampled the SBD feed, and mixed it with the damaged ambient source, and this is the result. It is far better than the ambient source, as the SBD source helps to cover up the damaged regions, quite nicely. But, it is not a pristine recording. This is as close to the ambient source as I will be uploading. I find it listenable in casual listening. It is not the best source for critical listening. This matrix source is for archival completeness, to represent the early set of this evenings concerts. This is a fan-based recording. Many thanks to Ciro Hurtado for allowing it to be share at LMA!

Taper Notes:
View NotesThere was a problem with a failing ambeint recording microphone in the early show. Its failing caused havoc in that recording. An attempt was made at high-resolution, to repair the damaged channel. While this made it listenable, it was distracting. So, I did a mix of the the fixed ambient recording and the house sound mix, to try to create a nice listenable mix of the early show. This is that mix. It is probably best to go to one of the other recordings if you want to get into a deep critical listening moment. The ambient tracks can reveal themselves in this mix. But I wanted some thing a bit more ambient than the house mix provided; and the house mix helped hide the damage ambient tracks. This Matrix Mix file set is being provided for archival completeness, and not necessarily for critical listening. I hope that you enjoy! Be critical of me, not of Huayucaltia, in this effort.
