* - The Revivalists (HISB off stage) + - with Michael Girardot of The Revivalists (keyboards) This is the 3rd show of a 3 show run by HISB at The Green Parrot. The entire show was recorded from the stage lip, with mics clamped to the ledge directly in front of the stage at about 3' high. The instruments sound clear, but the vocals are low due to the positioning. In talking with the sound man after soundcheck set, he offered a patch from the SBD to run a matrix the next time I'm in town, which would have helped with the vocals. For the 1st set, mics were dead center positioned between the guitar amps, but the 3rd set was crowded when I got back from The Revivalists, so I had to clamp a little left of center. (The 2nd set was well underway when I got back, but I figured they'd only play for another 10-15 minutes since I arrived late, so I didn't even set up my mics; they played nearly 45 minutes.) Shout-out to the drunk idiot who annoyed everyone around him (including the band) and can be heard yelling pointless questions and nonsense to the band from about 2' away during both sets. I came to Key West for a long weekend with friends to see The Revivalists at Truman Waterfront Park Amphitheater, unaware that HISB was playing in town that weekend too. Prior plans forced me to miss the Thursday sets, but I attended (and recorded) all 3 sets on Friday. I also attended (and recorded) the 1st and 3rd sets on Saturday, but missed most of the 2nd set (and didn't record) due to The Revivalists show. Sadly, I did not record The Revivalists show at the amphitheater.
