View NotesHank III started this tour in mid-January of 2004, and had played more than 30 dates by the time they made it to Richmond. Scott H. Biram opened. The Damn Band Vocals, Guitar - Hank III Steel - Andy Gibson Upright Bass - JoeBuck Fiddle - Michael Starr Drums - Brad Pemberton Assjack Vocals - Brian Poskochil, Hank III Guitar - Hank III Bass - JoeBuck Drums - Tim Yueng This was my first time recording Hank III, on a then brand-new set of Giant Squid Cardioids in a club that I was unfamiliar with. Needless to say, it isn't one of my best... but it's still a damn good listen. I ran the mics from the back side of the balcony, directly facing the stage, but left of center. I put the mics below foot level, so there's hardly any direct crowd noise (no chatty people or excessively loud claps).
