DPA 4026 (wide cardioid) > Grace Design Lunatec V3 > Audio Magic Illusion QL XLR > Mytek Stereo 192 ADC @ 24 bit, 96khz > Audio Magic Illusion QL Digital XLR > Sound Devices 744T
Lineage:
744T > Apple MacBook Pro > Wave Editor 1.5.5 > xACT 2.12 (4193) > flac
Taper Notes:
View Notes-This was an acoustic Lo Faber and Aaron Maxwell set with special guests Dan Pifer and Jon Bevo. -This is a 24 bit, 96khz recording. It will not burn to CD. A 16 bit, 44.1 khz version exists for CD in flac format. -I didn't realize the show was starting right at 7 (the last show was at 7:30...I should pay closer attention) so I missed the beginning of Home Again. I spliced in Scott Bernstein's Neumann TLM-170 > Sound Devices 722 recording to make this the complete show. -I ran the levels a little hot

Neumann TLM-170 (cardoids, 15' directly from the center of the stage) -> Sound Devices 722 (@24/96); FLAC File processing in SoundForge Audio Studio 10.0c (removed hundreds of loud claps during songs manually from almost every track; volume normalization; resample to 44.1 with iZotope 64-Bit SRC set higher than "Highest Quality" setting w/anti-alias filter; 24->16 bit dither using iZotope MBIT+ Dither with Ultra noise shaping, High dither settings; also ran a brief paragraphic EQ to notch out the frequencies of some loud screams ); Tracked in CDWav.
Taper Notes:
View Notes* = w/Jason Crosby on 6 string violin Recorded, mastered, and tracked by Scott Bernstein Special thanks to "that guy" who decided he HAD to be the only person in the room clapping, as loudly as possible, just below my microphones. I would have had this posted 2 days earlier if not for him. Please ask him for the 4-5 hours of my life he took away due to the time I had to spend removing his loud claps. ...and also to the guy who decided he needed to scream like a 12 year old girl at a Justin Bieber concert 3-4 times during the show (which I was also able to minimize through processing). Check out the album of photos I posted from this show: <table style="width:194px;"><tr><td align="center" style="height:194px;"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/scotthbernstein/GodStreetWineAcoustic20110520JoesPub?feat=embedwebsite" rel="nofollow"><img src="//web.archive.org/web/2im_/https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-83UM4mv82nE/Te8HEy6QhxE/AAAAAAAAmw8/MvOkdh1nQ1s/s160-c/GodStreetWineAcoustic20110520JoesPub.jpg" width="160" height="160" style="margin:1px 0 0 4px;" alt="GodStreetWineAcoustic20110520JoesPub.jpg" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="text-align:center;font-family:arial, sans-serif;font-size:11px;"><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/scotthbernstein/GodStreetWineAcoustic20110520JoesPub?feat=embedwebsite" style="color:#4D4D4D;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none;" rel="nofollow">God Street Wine acoustic 2011-05-20 Joes Pub</a></td></tr></table> There is a higher quality 24 bit version of this recording available at <a href="http://www.archive.org/details/gsw2011-05-20.tlm170.flac24" rel="nofollow">http://www.archive.org/details/gsw2011-05-20.tlm170.flac24</a> Follow me on Twitter to keep up with my near-daily posting of free live music downloads and live concert photography: <a href="http://www.twitter.com/scott_bernstein" rel="nofollow">http://www.twitter.com/scott_bernstein</a>
