View NotesI didn't fill in the setlist because I am not 100% sure of the names. First seed to the Archive so please bear w/ me. I didn't name the tracks because I am a bit unsure of the tracking in general, so I know as soon as it goes up for BT someone will fill it in. Apologies, but I would rather have the people who are sure tell me - instead of guessing. I included 3 tracks from the Chicago Afrobeat Project, I botched the first part of the first track as someone inadvertantly had bumped the UA-5 and it came unplugged. There was a lot of dead air for the 1st 7 minutes. I was dissapointed. I really think these guys were excellent, and there were a couple of the regular players absent from this lineup. I know the bass player was standing in for sure. I am using MD5s for speed's sake, the fingerprints are in there too though. I use izotope Ozone to polish the mix, even out the sides and generally sweeten a bit. I make this disclaimer because I owe it to the purists, but I have had only positive feedback so far. I rolled the bass off even more, -18db/oct at 54, and I bet there are some who will still think there is too much. That and even out the sides a bit, I have never used this pattern before, I am still breaking in the mics. I think it sounds pretty nice overall. I used Adobe Audition 1F as the host and the downsample from 48 to 44.1, set with pre filter and at 999acc. Recorded, Transferred, Tracked, FLAC'd by: Jim Goldman ([email protected])
