Taper Notes:
View Notes approximate running time: 40 minutes , this show has been mislabeled as 3-1-95, no confidence man and some song were played, but were not taped, the taper was there to record mary lou lord, and was so blown away by elliotts first 2 songs, that he decided to tape him as well. source: Sony TCS-430 stereo cassette-corder>Maxell UR IEC type 1 tape taper: cujofats Notes from cujofats: "I went to this show to record Mary Lou Lord, who was the headliner. I had never heard of Elliott Smith and I think neither had the majority of the crowd, although there were a few folks who called out songs. You can hear a lot of people talking during his set. So much so that he stopped playing track 10 as they were to loud. By the way, Mary Lou sat right in front of Elliott, mesmerized, for most of his set. That's her shushing the audience at about 1:25 into track #10. After Elliott's first song my friend HB looked at me, we were both blown away, and she said "This must have been what it was like when people first heard Dylan". I decided if his 2nd song was as good as the 1st I would record him. When I first traded the tape years ago I figured nobody would want the last 1/3 of No Confidence Man and I didn't include it. So here is everything I recorded. I later figured out that the first song of his set that I missed was Some Song.
