Taper Notes:
View NotesThe band: DM (vocals, piano, electric guitar, ukelele); Jeff Hill (bass, backing vocals); Ethan Eubanks (drums, backing vocals) Show Notes: band show; recorded from stage left under the PA (very close to the band). Tonight's highlights: similar set to New York the night before. The new arrangement of "Robert Bradley's Postcard" sticks around; while the band comes in at a random spot in "Indiana" - different than last night. Unlike last night, Ethan contributes some classy yet minimal snare work to "God Only Knows". Much to David's amusement, the song breaks down after Ethan leaves the stage and David calls him back to do the section again. Last night's "Queensboro Bridge" and "Nashville" are on the setlist but dropped in favor of a solo version of "Just Like A Woman" with David on the ukelele. The encore - visibly unplanned - is a throwdown version of "World Of A King" only featuring David and Ethan. Speaking of Ethan, David shares a rather unfortunate story about Ethan's transportation problems on the way to Philly. Glitches: At some points in the beginning the vocals are low due to the taping location - but not horribly. Post transfer: I left the EQ alone; only performed normalization to even out the levels, and then a 3db hard limiting boost in CoolEdit due to low levels. Digital transfer - June 2006.
