CSB [DIN] > Sony PCM-M10 (24 bit @48kHz) > Adobe Audition 3.0 (dithered to 16 bit @44.1kHz)
Lineage:
SanDisk 16GB MicroSD Card > (USB) 24 bit @48kHz > Cd Wave
Taper Notes:
View Notes* = Originally Recorded By Fleetwood Mac. + = Originally Recorded By Pearl Jam. The band sounded great, but this show was doomed from the start. When Cleveland Scene Magazine decided to hold an outdoor festival on Lake Erie in the middle of November, if you think to yourself "Wow, this might be a cold night" you would be correct. You might even think the wind could be a factor. Well, take those thoughts and throw in some disorganization and confusion. The vendors ran out of beer before Candlebox's set even began (which ended up being an hour and a half later than originally posted). With a bunch of upset people with no access to alcohol and a cold bitter wind hitting them square in the face, you can probably guess what happened... they left. The wind got pretty bad when the sun went down and by the time Candlebox hit the stage at 645 it was even worse. The temps were in the mid 40s at show time. Next year, perhaps Cleveland Scene Magazine should consider a weekend in September or October including better planning with the vendors. Many people had purchased drink tickets with no drinks to even buy. The guys were slated to go 90 to 105 minutes and only ended up lasting 68. I have to admit when they announced "You" was the first of the final 2 songs, I was pretty excited to walk back to my warm car. If you dont mind a little wind muffle (it picks up towards the end), this isnt a bad listen. The band did a great job considering the conditions. Personal highlight was "Best Friend" -- what a gem!!! Thanks to Ryan Teske for the loaned mics. For more information on Candlebox, please visit: http://www.CandleboxRocks.com.
