View NotesButthole Surfers Chestnut Cabaret, Philadelphia, PA 11/22/88 Source\lineage: track 1: Sony D5(m)>AN(3)>CD2>Cooledit Pro 2.0>eac>.wav>CD3>flac (level 8) remaining tracks: SBD(m)>PCM> CD2>Cooledit Pro 2.0>eac>.wav>CD3>flac (level 8) Ok, here is the fabulous upgrade, provided by hoytblotten of the 11/22/88 show. It is from the soundboard master, with a few digital gens, but no analog gens at all. It required an extra EAC to splice a third gen Audience recording of Barking Dogs to have the complete performance, but no gen loss in EAC...this is punk rock, not YES.... The splice was done pretty flawlessly, but it is impossible to make a third gen audience sound like a soundboard master. "Barking Dogs" actually stops before track two begins, so no fading or any other effects were added. At that stop, starts track 2 (SBD) That being said, this version is nicer than the last, especially the warmer bass sound. On the higher gen, turning the bass up meant turning up the bass drum, with no real warmth added, just a big ol' thud. This one is very sweet...let us all praise hoyt... View NotesThis has been mislabled as a soundboard recording for years. It is in fact a spectaucular audience capture from the front of the PA. This file set is a fresh transfer from the master with the correct lineage.
