View NotesBobby Lee Rodgers - guitar, banjo, vox Matt Lapham - bass Thom Damon (Thomas Damon) - drums, percussion ismokeweed Notes: --this might be a stereo soundboard recording --this is a festival that was put on by donna the buffalo with the help of their festival crew, local people and volunteers --they had 4 stages going. 1 big stage, a stage under a circus tent and 2 small stages that were permanent parts of the park --they had a mix of somewhat famous bands and local bands --they were sticklers for using old, state of the art pa equipment --lots of tube amps power the pa systems. old analog stuff. --their traveling sound crew was top notch. really knew their shit. --i think i recorded parts of all 4 stages simultaneously with 4 rigs --most of it i have never listened to. --i went to the festival since it's inception to the very end in 2023 --it's a shame it had to die --i have seen a lot of scenes die in miami vg NOTES (2026-01-08): --Thanks so much to ismokeweed for this Bobby Lee Rodgers Trio 2013 show. Absolutely Appreciated!! --I would posit that this is definitely an onstage mics recording based upon the fact that the vox truly sound like they are coming from a stage monitor & also the way that the instruments are panned (they way they would be placed on the stage) & straight in your face. --this was a midnight set as you can hear Bobby exclaim near the end of t04 "we got one more for ya, they have a 1:00 curfew, so we gotta stop" --this was the "2nd Annual Virginia Key Grassroots Festival Of Music & Dance" & it ran from 2013-02-21 thru 02-24 --artists who played the 2013 "Virginia Key Grassroots Festival Of Music & Dance" (no idea which day many of them played nor their order on the schedule): Inner Circle (2/22 & 2/23 [10:30pm] - Main Stage); Rusted Root (2/23 - Main Stage); Suénalo (2/24); Donna the Buffalo (2/21,23&24 - Main Stage); Spam Allstars (2/24 - Main Stage); Keith Frank & the Soileau Zydeco Band; MC Yogi; Locos Por Juana (2/22 - 11:00pm, Meadow Stage); Keith Secola & His Wild Band Of Indians (2/22); ArtOfficial (2/22 - Main Stage); Revelation Mizik; Driftwood (2/21,22,23 - Dance Tent); Elastic Bond (2/22&23); Johnny Dread; Uproot Hootenanny (2/21 - 9:00pm-10:30pm, Dance Tent); Araka; Call 2 Rise; Ike & Val; Bill Kelly; JUke; the Resolvers; Equanimous Minds; Big Cosmo; Preston Frank & His Zydeco Family Band; Wholetones; Bobby Lee Rodgers Trio (2/23 - 12am, Sustainability Pavilion); Osceola Brothers; Jah High Towa; SOSOS (in the Zen Village); Stokeswood (2/24 - Main Stage); Nag Champyons; Bird Named Python; Crazy Fingers; Cornerstoners; Lizzy Ross; Greg Humphreys; Mipso Trio; Sue Cunningham; Ao Newsense; Jose Conde; Komakozie; & more... --The four day GrassRoots Festival event featured: music on four stages, on-site camping, Sustainability Fair & Expo, Kids' Area, Dance Tent, World Foods Cafe, Zen Village Area with Healing Arts, Yoga, movement workshops, massage, meditation and crafts. --tickets were: 4-day pass: $100 (advance), $120 (at the gate) - youth (13-15) 4-day $50; single day tix: Thursday: $30, Friday: $35, Saturday: $35, Sunday: $30; kids 12 & under free!! --it was 1/2 price entry for those who rode their bike in to the Sunday date of this event --https://www.facebook.com/GrassRootsMiami/ --https://www.facebook.com/events/263285620467718/ --https://www.miaminewtimes.com/music/virginia-key-grassroots-2013-lineup-rusted-root-donna-the-buffalo-mc-yogi-20-others-6468696/ --I added the band members info --created a setlist for this...this was not easy as I am not familiar with Bobby's music that much & the fact that it's very hard to make out the vox, but thru careful listening & comparing the rhythms & riffs with other BLR recordings on the LMA (& then going back & making sure the vox I could make out were correct), I was able to figure out all except t04...if any Bobby Lee Rodgers aficionados out there know the title of this tune, please won't you please chime in & inform us all?? --created an ffp checksum file --added the ffp fingerprints & md5 checksums to the text file --added pics from the event & the poster for it
