Bob Weir (Robert Hall Weir) - acoustic guitar, vox, b.vox **=w/ Matt Kelly (Matthew Kelly) - harmonica #=w/ Barry Flast - keys, vox ++=w/ Steve Kimock - lead guitar @=w/ Anna Rizzo - b.vox [][]=w/ Jorma Kaukonen (Jorma Ludwik Kaukonen, Jr.) - acoustic guitar, vox $$=w/ Peter Yarrow - acoustic guitar, vox Mike Buzzeo Notes: --I got this in a trade years ago. --Enjoy! vg NOTES (2024-03-13): --I fixed the labeling of trax in the text file as toward what's actually on them, etc. --I have always seen this show listed online as "Bob Weir & Friends" & after listening closely thru this I gotta agree with that billing as it's predominantly Weir solo acoustic with bringing up members of Kingfish (& others) to augment the tunes at times...but upon researching it I see that it was listed in the Bulletin Board section of the Village Voice as "Bob Weir & Kingfish" in promoting the event & also listed the same way on a ticket from the night...admittedly the listing on the ticket is just written in ink that way from the ticket holder themself, but one would assume that they wrote that because that's the way it was listed & advertised for this, etc...seems like the person with the ticket was taking notes that night as toward what was going down & so forth...both the Village Voice image & the ticket image are included for your perusal..."Bob Weir & Friends" seems more correct to me toward what actually went down here, though "Bob Weir & Kingfish" is acceptable as well, I guess --it should be noted that Matt Kelly, Barry Flast, Steve Kimock, Anna Rizzo were all indeed members of Kingfish in 1986 (so was Bob Weir in 1986) --soundcheck for this evening was: Festival, This Time Forever, City Girls, My Blue Tears (x3), Walkin' Blues, Easy To Slip (x2), Spoonful, the Winners, Hey Jude, Desolation Row, Blackbird --show was billed as "The Great 60's Ball" - To Benefit WBAI & Radio Free America --it took place from '9:00pm until Dawn' according to the ticket --event was $15 in advance & all the way up until doors opened at 9pm that evening & then $20 after that --artists on the bill who played that evening at "The Great 60's Ball" were (from start to finish): Buffy Sainte-Marie (Beverly Jean Santamaria); Country Joe McDonald (Joseph Allen McDonald); Bob Weir & Kingfish w/ Jorma Kaukonen & Peter Yarrow --Abbie Hoffman (Abbot Howard Hoffman) was ringleader for the festivities --Jesse Jackson (Jesse Louis Jackson) made an appearance at the event --written on the image of the ticket for this event is 'w/ Debbie'...not sure what that means...maybe the person that the ticket holder went to the show with?? --The Saint was what used to be the Fillmore East --this venue no longer exists...The Saint was an American gay nightclub that operated from 1980-1988...according to reports online, it was probably the greatest disco ever conceived or built and represented one of single greatest investments the gay community has ever seen...it also had a hetero night at times
