Bob Weir (Robert Hall Weir) - interviewee Steve Bradshaw - interviewer transferred, edited and mastered SIRMick April 2008 SIRMick NOTES: --Many thanks to Jeremy Poynton for lending me his tape. --This is a multi-gen copy, unfortunately the right channel suffered from a lot of static. I have therefore copied the left channel over so that it is now a mono recording. --I eq'd it with iZotope Ozone to give the sound a little more depth. --There was quite a lot of background noise, which I have reduced with iZotope RX --With the help of Dr.Dunc & Charlie Gillett, I've been able to confirm that the interviewer was Steve Bradshaw Jeremy Poynton NOTES: --Thought I'd lost this, and another tape passed on to Mick. --I consigned my hundreds of Dead tapes to the dustbin of history a few years back. --Retrieved them last year to give to a friend who drives a van with a tape drive, and this and the other tape - from Mickey's studio, 3 rhythm run-outs for "Corrina", one with Mickey doing his inimitable rapping - were missing. --I assumed they were gone; but I was in Bristol a couple of weeks back to see my ex, and she had found them. vg NOTES (3/24/2023): --Thanks so much to whomever originally captured & shared out this Bob Weir 1972 interview & to Jeremy Poynton for sharing out his copy of it & to SIRMick for all the work he put into mastering it & then sharing it out far & wide to all of us. Absolutely Appreciated!! --Cheers as well to Dr.Dunc & Charlie Gillett for identifying the interviewer on this...more info is always welcome on these things!! --One final thanks to Jeremy's ex for still holding onto this tape so we all have a chance to hear it...Good Show!! --Though the exact date of this interview is not known, based on the info given by Steve Bradshaw during the interview, it seems very likely that the interview session happened sometime between May 20 & 22, 1972 (certainly this went down before 1972-05-23, which was the first of the Lyceum shows which this happened just before)...I put '1972-05-21' because the LMA would not accept '1972-05-2x' & demanded a final number there. --based on what the interviewer says while introducing this, I'd put the broadcast dates of these 2 segments at the 1st & 2nd weeks of July 1972, respectively --I added all the new info uncovered regarding this since it was shared in 2008 --added more detail to the venue info --added a pic of the building where this went down
