Taper Notes:
View NotesBlues Traveler closed the night at this tribute to the memory of blues guitarist John Campbell with three of their own songs, followed by four more where they invited any of the other musicians in attendance to join them on stage. The ones explicitly mentioned on this recording include Metallica's Kirk Hammett and Jason Newsted, along with guitarist Tony Prinzivalli, who joined them that night in a one-off band called Voodoo Children. There is also an unmentioned keyboardist, likely Voodoo Children member Whitey Chrobak. Other artists on the bill included Cruel 13, Dr. John, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Chris Whitley. There is video of this performance, which may eventually clear up the musicianship, but it does not circulate. A bootleg CD of this show called "Voodoo Children" was released, but is missing the last track. This is the first time the full audio recording has circulated.

Taper Notes:
View Notes* with Kirk Hammett on guitar and Jason Newsted on bass This show was a benefit for the family of late bluesman John Campbell. The lineup for the evening was originally only supposed to include John, but the whole band was in town anyway for the H.O.R.D.E. Festival two days later, so they all showed up. Another band on the lineup, called Voodoo Children, included Kirk and Jason from Metallica, who joined Blues Traveler for the last three songs of the set. The original track listing on the CD included a banter track after Crystal Flame and split the last song into two tracks; this has been corrected here as opposed to the other source, which was a straight extraction/encoding from the CD. Subsecond dropout during the first second of track 4; it's on the CD.
