Taper Notes:
View NotesShow notes: - Live debut of NY Prophesie. * with Warren Haynes on guitar # with Arnie Lawrence on saxophone $ with Blake Unangst on congas % with Legion (Zodiac Mindwarp) on guitar ^ with Marcus Bleecker (Mosaic) on congas & with Avram Lavinsky (Dreamspeak) on keys ~ with Phil Kramer (Mind's Eye) on guitar @ with Pete Kovachevich (First House) on guitar Recording notes: - Rock Me Baby and What's For Breakfast both cut off. Also, tape flips after Mountain Cry and But Anyway. - The tapes as received have some of the show out of order - Gina through What's For Breakfast were on side 1A, while side 1B started with the last song of set 1 (Brother John) followed by Gloria and Rock Me Baby. However, there is a stoppage between these last two songs, and the same intro to Rock Me Baby can be heard, uncut, after But Anyway at the end of side 2B, and John says "We've got one more", indicating this is likely the end of set 2, and Gloria is actually the encore. I have no explanation for the out-of-order presentation on the tapes I received. Personnel notes: - Only "Legion" is introduced (both as Blues Traveler's landlord and as being from Zodiac Mindwarp) for Gotta Get Mean, but congas are present on the recording. John introduces Marcus on congas for the next song, so these are almost certainly Blake's. - John mentions Marcus, Arnie, and Pete before But Anyway, but Arnie is not heard on the song, and is then brought up for Rock Me Baby. John also doesn't seem convinced Pete is available for But Anyway, and John mentions Marcus on congas afterwards, so only Marcus is credited. - The info I received for this show lists Marcus, Phil, Arnie, Avram, and Pete for Rock Me Baby, but only Arnie, Marcus, and Phil are introduced. Avram's keys can be heard as well so he is credited here, but Pete is not. - The info also lists Phil Kramer on Gloria (which is sung as G-L-A-D-Y-S for an audience member), but he is only introduced before Rock Me Baby, so I have not credited him on Gloria.
