Taper Notes:
View NotesOdd, quiet sound that sounds like a siren can be heard between songs when John's mic is left open - possibly feedback from the PA? Dan Tepper's liner notes: One of a series of "Psychedelic Wednesdays" hosted by Pierre Robert from WMMR radio in Philadelphia. Solar Circus opened this night. Cannot find or did not record set 2. Further notes added 02/13/09: Dan and I had never met or even communicated before he and I met in the taper's section in Asbury Park on 8/2/03. After a few minutes of conversation, he dug into his bag, pulled out a CD and handed it to me - a freebie of set 1 of this Blues Traveler set, which I'd had on cassette for years. At the time, neither he nor I had any information on set 2 - his liner notes indicated that he was either unable to find or did not record set 2. Several years previous, I had gotten in touch with John Pullekines, a Philadelphia-area trader who had in 2001 given me several shows' worth of masters or low-gen cassettes he'd gotten from a friend. I'd converted a few but then set the box aside for one reason or another. Just this week I dug John's box out of the closet it had ended up in, and one of his tapes caught my eye - labeled 4-11-90 II. Side A of the tape was the last three songs of Dan's recording, but Side B turned out to be the end of set 2 and the encore, definitely from the same show as the "siren" noise mentioned in my original notes is present on these three songs as well. If John has a tape 1 of 4-11-90, neither he nor I have located it yet, but the remainder of set 2 is likely on there, as his tapes have the habit of starting set 1 on one tape, then switching to another tape for the rest of set 1 (to avoid fast-forwarding to the end between songs). Set 2 would then begin on side B of tape 1, and finish on side B of tape 2.
