They are a hard-hitting southern rock band that would have sounded better without being subjected to strong sundowner wind gusts. I think that even if I’d had better windscreens the music would still sound if it was momentarily ‘blown away’. Flying M did a great job with his attempts to correct the problem in post, but the music still appears to be plagued with phase shifts as a result of the wind gusts. Vina Robles Amphitheatre definitely gets windy at sunset. I’ve been there two previous times and it was the same at those shows. I can only imagine that the other three tapers had similar difficulties with their recordings because I have yet to see another version surface. (There was a technical problem with one song when a blast of white noise erupted through the PA, and that song was restarted.) Do NOT Convert To MP3. Enjoy! Share freely, don’t sell, play nice, don’t run with scissors, etc. ;) Flying M Notes- The recording wasn’t “helpless” but the wind is still a player in this. Tried to attenuate as much as I could in the lower frequencies when the gusts blew. Can’t separate the wind noise from the instruments above about 100Hz. In the quiet between songs I actually deleted everything below 100 Hz which helped a lot. Increased the amplitude a bunch and did a little EQ/compression (similar to Gov Mule).
