Taper Notes:
View NotesBéla Fleck (Béla Anton Leoš Fleck) - banjo, synthesizers, guitar Victor Wooten (Victor Lemonte Wooten) - bass guitar, double bass, cello Roy "Future Man" Wooten (aka "Futureman"; aka "Futche"; aka "RoyEl"; Roy Wilfred Wooten) - synth-axe drumitar, drums, percussion, electronic drums Jeff Coffin (Jeff Stanley Coffin) - saxophones, horns, flute, clarinet, synthesizers mgoldey Notes (2026-01-23): --Performing material from "Outbound" the day before headlining the Dime Jazz Festival in Oyster Bay. --This is a terrific recording. --From the j-card: Mics "in hat, in 'artist area' directly in front of the band, almost on top of them, taping off stage monitors. Any talking you might hear is the band." --During track 6, the band popped a circuit breaker or something, resulting in a brief silence while that got sorted. --Enjoy! --mhg :: 2026-01-23 vg NOTES (2026-04-24): --recorded by Bill Mulvey --this was recorded with the full knowledge & permission of the band, sitting cross-legged on the floor right in front of them with the mics in a mesh cap (basically like a human 'shorty stand')...they thought I was crazy (they were correct--hahaha!!), but they were down with it...recording is a combination of natural instruments directly into the mics as they were situated on the 'stage' & whatever was coming thru the stage monitors --show started at 6:00pm --this was an in store promotional gig for the recently released album "Outbound" (released on 2000-07-25) --I added more detail to the band members info --corrected some song titles toward how they appear on the original albums...anyone out here who might know the title of t06, won't you please chime in & let us all know?? --added more detail to the venue info --this Borders Books & Music location was the flagship New York City store, but no longer exists as of around the end of April/beginning of May 2011...as a matter of fact, Borders Group Inc. liquidated and closed all its 400 remaining stores by September 2011, after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in February 2011...the second-largest U.S. bookstore chain failed due to slow adoption of e-commerce, outsourcing its online sales to rival Amazon (1995-2008), over-investment in physical music/DVD, & heavy debt --https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/shoppers-take-advantage-of-borders-bankruptcy-discounts/ --created an md5 checksum file --added the ffp fingerprints & md5 checksums to the text file --added pics of Borders
