View NotesShow Notes: A bizarre show indeed. This was a last minute gig, so most of the usual cats didn't show up. It was also only the second time Ian and Andrew played an acoustic show. There were bulldozers on the beach the during the entire performance which made the whole situation pretty frustrating for the boys. Besides the noise pollution, it was an unseasonably cold night, so the crowd was never very big. It was like a rotating cast of tiny groups, gradually getting drunker as the night went along. Towards the end of the Set 1, a random dude named Joe Joe approached them and asked if he could sit in on harmonica. He ended up playing the last 3 songs of that set with them. With that said, Ian and Andrew ended up playing some really great music about 40 songs (including reprises). Set 1 highlights include: A great rare acoustic version of BLT original song "There My Baby Goes" "Burn One Down" by Ben Harper Bend Down Low>Lovelight>Bend Down Low Dead Flowers Set 2 highlights include: Andrew singing solo beautifully on "You Are The Best Thing" by Ray LaMontagne Ian's stretch of solo songs from "Simply Wild" all the way though "Learning to Fly" "Maryjane's Sandwich" "I Wanna Be Your Lover" by Prince "Psycho Killer" And the closer, "I Got A Woman" Taper Notes: Wow, i left my ZOOM H1 on just to record this show for archival purposes. Considering the fact that the wind was blowing, there were bulldozers making a great deal of noise in the background, and The H1 was right near a lot of crowd talking the whole time, this recording is THE BOMB. Very Clear, with a little clipping hear and there, most noticeably on "Learning To Fly". Some very audible crowd talk. But you can hear every note and lyric clearly. I can only imagine what it would have sounded like without the bulldozers. ENJOY!! -BL
