View NotesBad Luck & Trouble is: Andrew Harwood - Guitars, Vocals Ian Lander - Lead Guitar, Vocals Jason Shorr - Bass Marc Scafidi - Drums Show Notes: As one of the few people who has attended every official BLT show yet, I can say that this is without a doubt the best overall show they have played thus far. Just about everything seemed to click, aside from a few minor hiccups. Jason was really tight. You can tell in the recording that he was linking up with Marc on the grooves. Andrew's tone was really nice, and he showed some newly developed chops on his solos. Ian showed off his ability to play lead on many different styles of music over the night, Going from blues, to funk, to country picking, to jammy styles, and killing it on the Young Lust finale. Marc, as always, is listening to everyone while he's playing, which leads to him adapting to what's being played around him, and really helping shape the music as opposed to just supplying the backbeat. The jam on "Fill Up My Cup" is great, and the band really connects and takes it places before bringing it all back to finish the song. Our good buddy Josh can be heard throughout, shouting his signature "originaaalll" chant after every time Andrew announces that there is an original tune, as well as some other Heckling… It just comes naturally to him. Taper Notes: This recording has great sonic clarity, especially considering the fact that it was recorded in the middle of a chatty crowd, in a restaurant with so-so acoustics. There is a good amount of space between the Instruments. With that said, there are a few flaws in the recording as well. Ian's guitar amp was pointed directly at my H1, and Andrews was not, so at times it is hard to hear what Andrew is playing. I also used audacity to bump up the bass a little, as Jason was the farthest musician from me that night and his bass was low in the mix in the first set. The final flaw is that in order to get the best recording of the band, i had to place my mic in front of the vocal PA, so the vocals are a little muffled. Enjoy! -BL
