View NotesNotes: -------- - Reunion Show for the 20th Anniversary of The Green Elephant - The Transcenders hadn't played together since 2008 - Outdoor Patio Stage (36th day of consecutive 100+ temperatures, today's high: 106) - Large Commercial AC Units were used to cool the patio and stage areas - winning! - A little EQ was added to boost high and cut a little low, and Level was upped +4dB The Transcenders History: ------------------------- (Original promo text) Joining forces in Dallas, Texas in 2002 Ryan Parvis (vocals, lead guitar), Travis Behl (vocals, bass) and Brian Hughes (vocals, rhythm guitar) formed the Transcenders to focus on writing and playing songs whose heartfelt messages inspire creativity, positive-thinking and spirituality. Yearning to find cohesion and fluidity of lyric and music, The Transcenders in 2004 added Lionel "Bud" Lucchesi (drums) and Brian Girard (keyboard) to the mix infusing rock, blues, funk, country and jazz along with stylized, improvisational solos and duel jams that showcase the talents and variety of musical influences of each member. The Transcenders' energy and musical prowess capture new listeners, thus adding to and enriching an already solid and loyal fan base. - After great success regionally, they released 'What It Is' in 2005. - Hard Copies can still be purchased at: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/transcenders - iTunes still has it available at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/what-it-is/id74571155 - Ironically, the title track of the album, 'What It Is', did not appear on the album. It is rumored to be included on the next record, so there's hope. - Life changes things and in 2007, they changed their name to 'Henry Star' briefly, due to a conflict with a similar-named LA-musical outfit, and eventually disbanded, with 2 members now living out of state. - The Transcenders have not played regularly since 2007, with a few reunion shows in 2008. - Despite the on/off nature of the last few years, I don't think this band breaks up, I think they just need to get together more often, the rest'll take care of itself. - Thanks to The Transcenders for another great night of music, come back soon !!
