Taper Notes:
View NotesThis is the Grateful Dead's first performance in Arizona and their only performance ever in Tucson, Arizona Originally aired on 91.3 FM KXCI Tucson on Dead Air, hosted by Jim Blackwood and Jamie Waddell on April 11, 2021 (broadcast on the concert's 52nd anniversary to the day) - https://spinitron.com/KXCI/pl/13019780/Dead-Air and shared to www.shnflac.net July 4, 2021 Notes - upgrade to circulating shnids, which all come from Jim's DAT - The beginning of show is missing, and the setlist is also uncertain for that portion, perhaps opened with Morning Dew, Sittin' on Top of the World, Cryptical > Other One > from show reviews - Main Ten jam in Dark Star

Taper Notes:
View Notes--The beginning of the first set is missing, and the setlist is also uncertain for that portion --The quality appears to drop for the start of the 2nd set, probably due to low signal levels on the master. The quality picks back up at the end of St. Stephen --Main Ten jam in Dark Star from 9:42 to 10:57 --splice at 3:12 in St. Stephen --splice at 2:42 in The Eleven --dropout in Lovelight @ 14:13 --Sound Forge was used for normalization and pitch correction

Thanks and praise to Peter Braverman for his technical assistance Deadlists: SET1 [21:06+] ; Morning Dew % Sittin' On Top Of The World % The Other One [#1:22] > Cryptical Envelopment [7:18] > It's A Sin [4:32] ; [1:27] ; Hard To Handle [5:27] ; [0:27] % SET2 [51:29 +] ; [1:36] ; Dark Star [20:20] > St. Stephen [3:#51] > The Eleven [5:#56] > Lovelight [19:42]; [0:25] % SET3 ENCORE COMMENTS Total time [1:12:35 +] Obviously the 1st set list is incomplete; probably Cryptical Envelopment > drums > preceded The Other One but possibly something else. Likely more tunes are missing before that, too -- if the tape catalogued under SET 1 represents the second side of a cassette master, then there's 45 minutes missing previous to where the tape cuts in. According to the review of the show by Richard Saltus in the Arizona Daily Star for 4/12/69, they also performed versions of Morning Dew and Sittin On Top Of The World. Presumably these tunes belong before That's It. There is a Main Ten jam in Dark Star, starting at 9:53 and running till 11:05, a total of 1:12; this is the first known occurence of this kernel and prototype of Playin In The Band. There is a cut in St. Stephen at 3:26; probably a couple minutes are lost here. There is also a cut in The Eleven at 3:54, with a passage of jamming of uncertain length lost (perhaps as little as 20 seconds but also possibly as long as several minutes). The Eleven analyzes St. Stephen > 1st vocals 1:05 > transition jam 1:21 > Eleven jam 1:#40 > Eleven vocals 0:40 > Eleven jam 1:04 > transition 0:06 > Lovelight.
