The sing-alongs, the energy from the crowd, the Antibalas horns, the new tunes, and that damned duck-call are all etched permanently in my mind. There is no other band that has moved me in a short 18-month period to (a) buy their entire catalog, (b) travel from Montana to NYC for my first shows, and (c) haul my gear along to make sure it got recorded, but Gomez are the ones who accomplished that. Thanks to Mark & Kim for their hospitality, to Kyle for letting me use his Sponge Bob bed, to the new friends made over pints in the bar, and to Blackie, Tom, & Ben for very gracious greets after the show.
