View NotesA very fun show at a great festival! This was the 5:00 Saturday set on the River Worm Cafe stage, an awesome stage set up in a thick forest, surrounded by tents and campers and dancers. The weather was perfect and good vibes were everywhere. It shows in the set, with a high energy set that roughly echoed a GD show condensed into an hour and a half. It starts with the classic Bertha>Greatest Story, interrupted very briefly by a collapse of the snare-drum stand. Lighter fare continued with a nice Dire Wolf, followed by a Disco Dancin' that allowed the band to stretch out and warm up a little. Scarlet>Fire is a musical journey, the band explores the transition jam with uncharted territory provided by the guest keyboard player, Mr X. After that there's a brief pause while the band prepares to dive into the real meat of the evening - a solid Estimated into Eyes. The transition from Eyes into the Other One sounds like a spaceship landing, and where it lands is an Other One that you have to download if you hear nothing else... waves of energy colliding. This eventually settles down into a great and gentle Wharf Rat aided by the vocals of guest singer Caroline Killoh. A solid Good Lovin gets the audience one last chance to dance and party, followed by a Catfish John that sounded absolutely serene and felt just right in the woodland setting.
